Unknown wire (1999 ranger)

Hello I’m wyatt and I’m also new here. Yesterday I noticed a wire hanging down from the front bumper and I’m not sure what it’s for. My guess is it’s an engine block heater or oil heater.

it’s a 3 prong connector like you would plug into an outlet and it leads from the front bumper and goes back to the middle of the engine underneath the headers

The red wire underneath the header

just curious h’what it does. Everything else runs fine

Looks like a block heater to me, surprised a truck in Hawaii has one.

If there is a Male 110vAC electric plug under the cover then its for sure a block heater

Male so you can use an extension cord which, of course, would have a female end if plugged in at the house or garage

If you don't want it, just cut it off as close to the engine as you want, its not part of any other system, its just connected to a heating element on a Core Plug(freeze plug)
And some unplug from the core plug, like this type: https://puredieselpower.com/images/t...ugheater-2.jpg
