Vacuum Ball Replacement Lines
Vacuum Ball Replacement Lines
Over the winter the lines to my vacuum ball became brittle and broke. I have found a replacement ball online but cannot find anywhere to buy the lines. Does anybody know where I should look?
They are just vacuum lines they do not have to be hard plastic style, in fact better not to use the hard plastic near exhaust manifold, route flexible hose away from exhaust.
Hard plastic lines were used for one reason...............much cheaper when building thousands of vehicles
Take a section of the remaining hard lines to parts store and get vacuum hose that fits snugly over it, no clamps are needed it is a VACUUM inside, so holds connections in place

Yup - behind the counter they sell it by the foot. - I like to bring short chunks of all the vacuum lines i need and overestimate by a foot or more. Also sometimes they run out of a certian size so you may have to use metric. Which them being rubber they can stretch.
Ok, so I finally got around to getting the replacement ball this weekend. I just have a few more questions.
1) when I disconnect the old ball I realized that there is also a gray vacuum house behind the passager tire, right next to the black on that was connected to the ball. Does anyone know if this should be connected to anything?
2) I also bought the replacement hose, but I do not have the "nipples" to connect it to the ports on the ball. What would you guys suggest I use instead?
