Wandering Idle

Hey all,

2004 EDGE 4.0L SOHC here, 5spd.

Lately I've been having an issue where, when I pop in the clutch, the engine races to a random RPM and stays there until I come to a complete stop. Usually it's something between 2k and 3k, typically 2.25k.

Some days it behaves fine, some days it does as above. Seems to always wander back to the same RPM until it decides to behave, then starts all over seeking to another RPM.

I've cleaned the MAF, throttle body and checked the TPS voltage (0.96v - 4.61v). I'm guessing it has to be the IAC at this point, correct?

Also, I've sprayed starting fluid around the usual suspects (around TB, PCV valve, etc.) and no revving is going on there, so I don't *think* it's a vacuum leak.

Try cleaning the IAC valve with carb cleaner.
