Weird electrical problem.

So this morning i jump in the truck to head to work, I turn the lights on and my rpm gauge jumps from 1500rpm to 2500-3000. And my left turn signal is on solid. But when I turn my lights off everything goes back to normal. What the hell is going on with my truck. I mean I got a good chuckle out of it because I have never heard of this happening before. So, what is causing this.

Cheers
Chris

Sounds like a ground problem. The first ground point to check for these symptoms is under the hood, bolted to the driver side inner fender apron, about halfway back.

I agree with bob here, I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and found that ground halfway on the fender was loose, i tightened back up and all was fine. also had no heat and winshield wipers and my headlights, one of them was real dim.
