Icon9 Whats wrong with my truck.... bought new things too

So this morning i drove my truck for the first time in a week or so to work i was going to buy a new camper shell off cl. i get there and check out the shell and it was on a 06 that had been rolled. the guy said that his son rolled the 06 in a field and the shell had scratches(chips) all over on the top of it. so i decided to not get it. but i did score some 06 badges, headlights and clear and amber corners for 40 bucks. thought it was a good deal....

NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go to leave and start my truck and it just there and sputters and idols really low like 200 rpms and after like 5 sec it idols up and revs and runs fine then starts the sputtering again and shakes really bad. i turn the truck off and cycle the key and start it up again drive about a block and does it all over again. doesnt respond to giving gas or nothign. played this game for like a mile or so on and off. it would run fine no issues and all of a sudden idol low and sputter all over again.... stopped at a shop and they are going to diagnose it tomorrow....

Whats your opinion?
04 4.0 5 speed 101099 miles

If it was the intertia it would start then die. If he tried starting it all it would do would crank.

I would get the vac lines at the throttle body. Also clean MAF and IAC for sure start there!! any codes?

Seems like the past few months guys with 04's have been having problems with the fuel pump relays going out. Sometimes they would just quit , other times would work intermittently.
If the contacts in the relay are arcing/burnt , the pump may not begetting enough power and not delivering enough pressure.

I'm guessing vaccum lines or intake gaskets

you have probly had it checked out by now, but the first thing i would check is the gas. you had not run it in a week, didyou get gas?or was it sitting there in bad weather. could have water in it. that happen to me once on a trip , took me 13 hours for a 10 hour trip. and putting in good gas and additives barely helped, only thing is dump the gas or run it out. mine would run fine for 1 minute or 30 minutes then sputter and shut down or just sit there jerking and then run ok. hope you got it fixed and no big expence.

well the culprit was a wire that shorted on the fuel pump resulting in the intermittent problem. it was originally 65 to diagnose the problem. he originally said that the fuel pump was bad but when ne went to change it he found the problem. he charged me for 3 hours of labor so my total is like 350 to fix it. but for an aditional 50 he offered to do a tune up to kinda counter act the labor charges... kinda confusing but it was to bad in the end.... sucks but oh well

ok new game!!!!!! haha so i drove home and it ran great for about 30 miles hoome. went to the parts store to get some stuff for the gf's car. on the war home i had a new problem. it started running fine then about a mile from my house it started to run like ****... now it idols fine but it sputters while accelerating. in neutral if i rev it up you can hear it not running right. then the more load it is under the worse it runs. as i try to speed up it sputters(kinda pulsates down, if that makes sense) kinda feeling like if you were to stab the clutch really fast. but i know its not the clutch cuz like i said it does it in neutral!!!!! OMG!!!!

For your second problem I'm kind of having the same problem. Mine seems sluggish getting up to higher speeds (50+). What I've come to find out from making a thread of my own about the problem is that its either a bad IAC, TPS, MAF sensor or bad Coil Pack. I'm in the process of replacing them in that order ha.

SP? If you can hear the fuel pump when you turn the key that is a good thing. That just means its working haha. Mine is the same way It idles fine but is acting weird at higher speeds. IAC helped a little when I replaced it, but I'm going to replace the TPS and see what that does.

At least now it doesn't look like tiny lines of red.

I do believe you are looking at a sensor that has went bad, assuming your fuel pressure is good. Although it should throw a CEL during this, without one you are looking for bad wiring.

Regap the plugs. Check them closely for cracks when you take them out. A crack in a plug will cause weird things to happen.
