Window regulator

Hey, I need some advise from y’all internet mechanics. My passenger window regulator stopped working so I took just the regulator out and cleaned it. With a little tlc it now runs better than ever. The problem is, now that I took it out, tested it, and then re installed it, when the window hits the top it wants to bend the door in half. It rolls all the way up and down, but I need to know how to re adjust the position of the cog wheel correctly. Every video I can find online is just replacing the entire assembly. (Which I don’t want to do)

Power window motors have a thermal shut off inside the motor, and its very sensitive, so motor should shut off the instant there is any resistance like when window is all the way up or down
There are no other "shut offs" or adjustments that would turn off the motor
If window goes all the way up and all the way down then every thing is in the correct position, so could be the motor is the issue, might have been why regulator broke/stopped working, bad thermal switch in the motor
