Icon9 Won’t start

Have a 2004 Ford ranger edge. Would not start but was able to boost and get it home. Cleaned battery cables and started right up for about two days. Now won’t turn over, won’t start, won’t boost and everything inside dead. No lights, radio etc. Tried to boost again, got lights and radio but as soon as attempted to start everything went out. There she sits, Dead. Manual transmission.

Have the battery load tested, removed from the truck.

Agreed. You'd also do well to inspect all your grounds and verify that they are all intact and not corroded/damaged in some capacity

Shouldn't "boost" newer vehicles, just FYI, correct procedure is to disconnect "dead" vehicles battery and re-charge it using another vehicle(hard on that vehicles charging system) then disconnect and reconnect vehicles battery
OR
disconnect other vehicles battery and use it as second battery for "dead" vehicle
Either protects the electronics in both vehicles

Your common link are the battery CABLES
When most people Jump/boost they hook up the jumper cables to the"dead" vehicle's battery CABLES
If one of the CABLE'S connection to the vehicle, NOT the battery, is bad then jumping wouldn't help

So best guess if one of you battery cables is bad, where it connects to vehicle electrical sytsem

Battery positive terminal-----------------------XXXX---fusebox/starter
Battery negative terminal---------------------XXXX---engine block

You can try hooking up jumper cable's Negative clamp to engine metal directly, instead of negative battery terminal, if it passes power more reliably then your negative battery cable is the issue
If not then start with positive battery cable, replace it

Battery cables can corrode under their insulation, you will see a white powdery substance if you cut back the insulation

BOTH battery cables, positive and negative, pass the same power/amps
People tend to focus on Positive as "the power" but BOTH are equal, i.e. disconnect the Negative cable and see what works?
Right, nothing works, lol
