I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT, 4x2, regular cab, and I'd like to replace the 60/40 seats with more supportive seats. Is there a list of seats that will fit my vehicle?
I've found someone locally who is selling a set of 97 Explorer fabric bucket seats, 96 Mustang GT seats, and 85 Mustang GT seats. Will any of these seats work in a 98 Ranger standard cab? The seat library link isn't very detailed about exactly what will work.
Thats because someone has to actually do the swap to see if it will work, and there are a lot of years and models to cross-over, lol.
A lot of the seat swaps are based on using the Ranger tracks, the part that bolts to the floor, and then mounting/bolting the new seats to those tracks
You have 60/40 and are going to buckets so your tracks won't work, I believe, but the 60/40 may have the same tracks as buckets
Yes, any of those seats will work, but you may need to remount the seats on the tracks, farther forward, it depends on the thickness and height of the back, for use in regular cab
The taller the back the farther forward it needs to be to get a comfortable angle
Also not sure it you need the back to have the lever that allows it to fold forward, explorer won't have that, even 2 door models, for drivers side
Mustangs should have that on both sides
I was able to remove the 60/40 seats from my truck, but I'm having trouble removing the tracks from the seats. I removed the four black bolts on the frame and the torx screw holding in the seat belt connector, but the tracks still won't come off. It feels like there is a bolt in the incline lever that is still holding the track together, but I'm not sure. What more do I need to do to remove the seat track (after removing the four black bolts and the seat belt torx screw)? thanks
