2002 Ranger odometer not lit

I noticed yesterday that my odometer is not reading. I've removed the gauge cluster but don't know what to do next. Any pointers would be appreciated! Thanks, Joe

Not lit... or not reading? There's a difference. Not lit means the lamp is burned out. Not reading is an whole other kettle of fish.

Welcome to the forum

"Odometer not lit"?

There are 6 backlight light bulbs in a Ranger instrument cluster, change all of them

Odometer not working, speedometer is working
Google: Ford Ranger odometer worm drive
Several videos on this repair

1996 to 2003 Ranger instrument clusters are interchangeable, plug and play, so that's an option as well, still replace the 6 light bulbs

The dash board lights work, it's just the the odometer no longer shows the mileage. Speedometer works. It's a digital unit.

I've been an idiot! I was concentrating on the space on the bottom that is the automatic shift position indicator, (not pertinent to mine since it's manual) thinking the odometer should be there.
Anyway, I found out how to get it apart, cleaned the dust out of it, and replaced a burned out light.
Sorry for my stupidity and thanks for your patience helping me see it correctly, Ron.
