2005 Sport Trac Seats in standard Cab
2005 Sport Trac Seats in standard Cab
Title says it all, I'm just curious if I can swap 2005 sport trac seats into my 2004 standard cab Ranger? If so would I only need to swap the seat brackets? I've been looking for awhile and can't find a super clear answer on what seats fit in a standard cab with little modification other than swapping the bracket and rails I've heard which is fine. Thank you for your help I'm sure there's lots of these posts but I just want a definite answer of what I can put in my truck.
Welcome to the forum
There will not be a definitive answer unless the same seats have been swapped into the same cab and the person posted how the swap went
Most Ford seats were spot welded to the frames/brackets after 2000 or so, so need to be cut off, so heads up on that, and there will be drilling required to add bolt holes
Frames can be bolted to any seat, but some times you need to use flat metal bars if the rails don't line up, but not a big deal
Fitment in regular cab can be an issue because of thicker seat backs or height of the seat backs, there is limited room to slide the seat back and keep the angle of the seats back at a comfortable angle
Also most vehicle's seat backs DO NOT flip forward to access behind the seat area, but you can slide the seat all the way forward
The sport track seats will fit in the Ranger cab with above caveats
Here is an article on Ranger seat swaps: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...ger-seat-swap/
Article has this comment: "2002 and newer Ford Explorer seats are wider, and will not bolts up to the Ranger tracks."
If that applies to sport track model then you will need the flat metal bars
1993-2011 Rangers have same interior dimensions, so if it worked in a 1997 Ranger it will work in a 2004 Ranger, as far as width
