Heat/AC/vent help

I have a '94 Ranger with the older style vacuum assisted climate control setup, I attempted a dash swap but said screw it and put everything back and now my vent selector doesn't work, nor does the heat/cool vent do anything. When I took out the dash I pulled on the cables attached to the climate control thing, did I break it when I did that and how do I fix it? Winter is coming and I need my defrost to work at the very least, I'd like it all fixed so I don't have to worry about it.

Also when my truck is at operating temperature the fan for the heat/AC turns on low for no reason with no switch input, it turns my truck into an oven! Why the heck does it do this? How do I keep it from doing this? It isn't overheating, new thermostat/temp sensors/aluminum radiator/severe rating fan clutch all brand new and installed by me so that ain't it chief, temp needle sits on the cooler side of normal now so why does the fan kick on?

Also also, does anyone sell the seat lever for the bench seat because the drivers side isn't there anymore, I can make the seat go forward but not adjust the back at all, makes getting into the back for smaller items a pain. Anyone got recommendations for cup holders?

Up thru 1994 Rangers used 2 CABLES for the Temp control and the Vent control(defrost, panel and floor)

Picture here of that control panel with AC: https://www.explorerforum.com/forums...r2-jpg.273218/
Slider controls

1995 and up used electric motor for temp, and vacuum for Vent control, panel seen here: https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/...cW2/s-l300.jpg
**** controls not sliders, so easy to tell them apart

So assuming you have sliders then the cable is unhooked, at the control end or device end
If you broke the climate control end then you need to get a new panel

If fan OFF is not working then there is either a short to ground in the panel or in the Blower resistor block in engine bay
The fan/blower gets 12volts with key on, the panel is the GROUND for the fan motor, so each setting gives the fan motor a better ground until HIGH, which is a full ground
The resistor block is for low and med, HIGH by-pass the resistor block, and of course OFF would be no ground at all
In 1995 and up there is no "off" on the fan control ****, to turn

The TEMP control is an air diverter door next to the heater core inside the dash, called The Blend Door in all years and vehicles
It sends air from the fan either thru the heater core(HOT), or around the heater core(COLD), and any where in between, so some air thru heater core other air around heater core, the slider controls how much air goes thru heater core on its way to the vents

Lever for the seat back either needs a new lever(you make this yourself) welded on to the remaining part, or get a new seat, with a working lever, on that side

Yeah I have the 2 cable setup with slider control, I pulled on the 2 cables when I was attempting to swap my dash. I know I'll have to rip apart my dash, assuming the worst and I busted the connector where the cables hook to the vent door/blend door how hard is it to fix?

The fan off works until the trucks been running for about 30 minutes, then it kicks on or theres just air being forced through the heater core up to the vents for some reason. After its been running I can turn the fan on low and it doesn't affect air flow much if at all

If you break the panels arms then you have to get another panel

Unplug the fans 2 wire connector in engine bay, and then see if the air flow still comes on or it doesn't, that will tell you if its electrical or mechanical issue
