Cruze pods done.

Put red LED's in the cruze control pods. I'm thinking about doing a few other things over the next week as I have some help here for the summer.

I used griggs ' how to extravaganza ' on his car domain BUT, I didnt do the extensive PCB work he did. Heres some pics...

I took the lead from pin2 ( 3volts ) and ran a series circuit. 470ohm resistor to the voltage side of the led, then ran the the other lead to pin1 ( return/ground. Its the SAME things Griggs came up with. His is more .. ' prettier ' and probably more ' reliable '.

After I was done, I used conformal coating to make sure nothing could short out on exposed leads.

Took less then an hour to do everything including pulling the pods. I have a soldering-workstation with a ' Pace ' kit.. I was just feeling lazy

Under the dash and in back are 2 pairs of cold cathodes. Led's/Neons are lame and don't glow with enough intensity for my liking. I USED to have 3x10inch neons under each side of the dash.. now theres only 1 cold cathode on each side. I don't ' kick ' things with my toes anymore.

9 or 10 inch ones. the controller is hooked to a switch where my ashtray used to be.

No. Theres a relay that goes to the battery and the switch goes to the relay. Theres also a fuse in the mix as well.

Man, any import tuner guy would be proud of that interior! Lookin' real good. Are those your own custom gauge faces, or did you purchase those somehwere??

how long do you figure it took you? the right side of mine doesn't light up anymore, so i'm assumming the bulbs are dead.. i may just do this mod instead since i'm going to be in there anyways.

The gauges are Indiglo overlays. I bought them 3 years ago on ebay for 25$.

Tuner guys don't like my interrior for some reason.. ***** envy maybe? I dunno.
