Door Pods

Someone I know is able to make door pods. Are they worth the investment. If so I will get some made then find speakers for them later on. Would 6.5's stick out too far, or would 5.5 be fine?

These would be a better solution for me than those pods on the floor that take up too much space IMO.

im doing a 3way set of pods once i get my 7" mids. all together ill have the 1" tweeter, 5.25 woofer, and the 7" mid...

it all depends on how they're built.. he can make them very slim so they just barely fit in there, or he could hand you a shoe box.. its all in the build, so im not sure if 6.5's would be fine or not. im going to have a 7" in my door, but, that's with some trimming at the bottom!

I thought about making a fiberglas pod panel too, for either a 2 or 3 way system that I don't have yet. I was just wondering how it would hold up with extreme wheeling, which I don't do often. The other thing is would you mount the pod/panel to the metal door itself or the plastic panel, or the metal and cut out the plastic or what?
