cut off switch for dome light?

Hey,

After just doing the simple blinker mod, I'm in the mood for some more electrical modifications. I have an extremely bright LED for the dome light, and sometimes at night, i don't want the light to go off. So while my headliner is off and the wires are easily accessible i wanted to install some sort of cut of switch that would enable me to cut off the current to light. I know something like this exists. Not sure what its called though. Also i could go one step further and install something that would enable me to turn the light on and off on command, instead of using that dimmer switch to turn on the dome light. Any suggestions?

Regards,
Andrew

GM's have a "dome" override switch.
I think the best thing to do would be to put a switch in the main power for the dome light.

Turning the light on and off on command is similar, the dimmer control switch is just a a variable resistor. wire a switch with direct current around it.

I'm a newb when it comes to wiring. I'm confused when you say wire a switch with direct current around it. How would I access the main power switch for the done light?
