could someone show me how to remove the dash please, thank you in advance!

 

Remove Radio Bezel - two screws
Remove plastic piece below steering wheel - two screws and some clips
Remove Steel piece below steering wheel - 6 screws I think
Remove five screws from Gauge Bezel - 2 low three on the upper rim
Remove four screws holding the Cluster - around the outside
Unplug the three electrical connector on the cluster.
It should be in your hands.

 

you'll need a 7 and 8 mm socket
and a phillips screwdriver

takes about 10 min with a drill or 15-20 by hand

 

I remember there being a write up on this in teh "How-to's" it even had pictures.

 

i dont see any instructions on the how tos section only instructions there is switching the cluster

 

just start unscrewing.

 

are you wanting to pull the entire dash? if so, take any and all panels off ie glove box, radio bezel, cluster etc. there should be two bolts on the driver's side door jam, one on the passenger side at the bottom of the dash, 4 or 5 across the windshield. you will need to unbolt the steering column at the firewall. make sure you do not rotate the wheel while it's disconnected from the rest of the linkage. then undo the wiring harness from the engine bay side. there are three big plugs under the brake booster and fuse box. should have a bolt in them. they are grey, black, and tan. once they are out, go back and remove them (would probably be easier before taking the rest of the dash out) from the interior side. that keeps you from having to pull the entire harness off the dash frame. there may be a few other wiring connections, but that's the main deal with it.

 

I made the assumption you were referring to the Gauge Cluster, sorry.
I guess the first question should have been what exactly are you trying to do ?

 

my truck did not come with AC, so i went to the junk yard and get the whole system, do i need to remove the dash for the evaporator and heating core?

 

i replied to your pm. if you are going to change the heater core, you will need to take the dash out, but it's not required if just adding a/c.
