Dome/Map light

I just recently bought a 2001 XLT, so I haven't learned all the tricks yet. One of the map lights is burnt out in the dome. When I looked in the manual for directions on changing the bulb, the directions said to take the truck to a Ford mechanic. I somehow think it can't possibly so complicated that I need a mechanic to fix it. Is it as easy as snapping the cover off, or is their some trick?

Thanks for any help.

There are 4 little clips that hold it it... two on the back side and two on the front side... what i do is get my fingers between the headliner and the lense and push in the center with my thumbs... not too hard tho, cuz ive broken one before..lol

Mine cracked the underside when I pulled it off. Plus, the bulbs were melted into their sockets and wouldn't come out. The good news is that I was replacing the thing with one from an Explorer, so I didn't care.
Good luck getting the thing out, you'll need it.

I was able to get the dome cover off. I almost pulled the whole thing out of the ceiling before I figured out how the cover came off. It turns out the bulb was just loose and didn't need replacing. Thanks for the advice guys.
