Gauge Swap

On one of my trips to the J-yard I found that an 03 2door had some sweet gauge overlays so i took em out. and they are much cooler than the lame black and white ones i think. i like the silverish color and orange needles. Also the text that is used is alot better and matches my aftermarket gauges better. I also shaved the backs and did the blue LED mod as well.

i didnt even know any rangers came with these? or are they aftermarket?

all i did was swap the faces. so i just peeled them off the 03 in the j-yard and pulled off my old ones and put the silver ones in their place.

yeah i had seen them once before, and this time i decided to take them since they looked sweet, but were still stock

Those are factory XLT gauges, 2003 only. I have the same ones in my avatar but the flash makes them look white.

that's weird that they only made them for 03! they're really sharp gauges...i'd trade my white ones off for some of those gray ones

they're not bad at all...you just need to have them at room temperature (65-85*), pull the needles off and ease the overlays up from the gauge assy.

you only need to pull the speedometer and swap that.

there is a how-to on RPS that tells you how to recalibrate the speedo needle.

i swapped my speedo/odo over to a Explorer Sport cluster, everything works great but the theft light because pre 2001 the theft light worked different.

I never realized those were for 03 only. No wonder everyone does cluster swaps.

Those silver ones were 03 only on Rangers. Ford also made the same style in white for Tremors and Explorer Sport and Sport Trac but they were not 03 only .

Looks good Andy. Did you have that done before our meet? Never really looked inside the truck, but I thought I remember catching a glimpse of white on the gauges. Anyway, nice find.
