Heater Panel in RED

Just got the proof from the Mfgr.

Take a look:
Almost all RED Lettering…

White SMD LED Strip for lighting or maybe just white LED Bulbs, we will see.

Adding to the list, now I can pull the Dash apart, RED Cluster, RED Heater Panel, maybe Silver Gauge Cluster Bezel, chkg it out.
I like the black so the silver cluster bezel may not make it.

Ya gotta LOVE an Audi’s Dash, that’s where the idea came from.
Got a RED Gauge Cluster to match, now a RED Tach mounted on the left side of the Dash.

Umm, dont waste money on somethin liek that - pull your little thing apart, scrape the back, and put red brake light repair tape behind it, works like a charm

It never turns out RED, that is the problem.
The white that remains always brings out a lighter red and I was true red.

I tried the painting the speed-o with out success and attempted only part of the heater panel without success so these will be the way to go to get the Audi look.

Thanks,

Thanks,
You have to use multiple layers of the film to get the appropriate color. I had the same issue when I did blue. A single layer just made it look washed out. You gotta use 2 or 3 layers to get that nice bold deep color.

And I hear ya on the failed attempt at using translucent paint. F*** paint, it looked like garbage and I spent SO much time on it. Never again.

This is sitting a few feet from me right now, once i get the oomph up to actually mod the LED's in - it will turn out quite nice, heeps better then using that translucent paint stuff for window glass... red tape > paint! :-)

If the LEDs are too bright and the Dimmer doesn’t take it low enough there is always a resistor or two.

Here is my cluster faces, working on getting it together, almost there.

Thanks man, mine too for the dash (Audi Dash Color), the rest of the interior is just white LEDs.

I’m using White Strip SMD LEDs.
Same as my Gauge Cluster.

Will have to wait and see how many and where they will be mounted because I have never seen the inside of the Heater Panel Control Box.

Hoping for a straight forward setup.

The ***** will be interesting, one SMD LED per **** Indicator, should be more than enough light.
Indicator are always too dim so this should brighten things up.

Believe me when I said the SMD LEDs I put in the Radio Front End are Bright.
I am hoping the Cluster, the Heater Panel and the ***** will be just as bright so I can turn then down some.
They WILL dim but as far as an incandescent bulb but still a lot.
My only problem is the needles, I wanted RED but have not had any luck so far.
I am looking at fluorescent paint that is supposedly made for Cluster Needles.
