Help!!! Explorer seat install

I am trying to install Explorer seats in my Ranger. The seat tracks have 1999 labels on them. Passenger seat is fine now on to the driver seat. The rails lay on top of a wiring harness. Have others had the same problem? One solution is to put washers under the back so it's raised up. Any other suggestions?

Washers work as great shims too.

The seats are in I just need to hook up the power for the driver's seat and stain (paint) the trim which is currently tan. I cut up the box cover and added a shim to the rear. I have wires run up to the cigarette lighter for the power. I purchased an Expedition console but I think it's too big. I'm going to get a short one from an Explorer or maybe build one.

Dog's stuff in on the floor in front of the passenger seat. The mats are all that remains of the sold Corvette.

Rear seats are out. I'm going to build a bench in back for the dog. I'd like to hinge the top so I can transport guns to and from the range.
When I get some money I'm going to get carpet.

I cut the sides and front off the box and used a brass cylinder a little less than 1/2 inch.

Drill out all 4 holes, no need for spacers.

There's no reason it won't work. If they're really 99 seats like he says, drilling out the 4 mounting holes will help it sit flush on the ground. I have that same box, covered by carpet.... and I don't have any issues... Neither do the 3 expo seat installs I've ever done had those issues.

he didn't have an issue with the holes not lining up. the problem was not crushing the electrical box. they are from a 99. i pulled them from the truck and recovered them.

drppdyllwrngr,

I understand it is the electrical junction that is causing a problem and I thank GER42 for the info.

BUT I stretched the information a little and asked about the mounting holes, WHY because I wanted to know for my up coming swap.
If I can get first hand info then it will help me when I do my swap I can have some extra metal for a possible fix; just waiting for a little warmer weather and IT IS just around the corner, thank GOD !

Is this OK with you…

as far as i know, the holes were dead on in his truck. we both took measurements of the mounting holes before he ever offered to buy the seats. i know i have read that minor enlarging of the holes may be required, but it's nothing too major.

your previous post made it sound like he had problems with the location of the holes.

it's good man. maybe he will chime in to confirm or not what i said. but any mods that need to be done should be minimal.

i just noticed in your sig you have a reg cab. these will NOT bolt into a reg cab. the track length between reg cab and ext cab/expo are completely different. not sure if you are aware of that or not.
