LED Dash Questions
#26
I have a blue LED'd Explorer cluster with orange needles and see the needles just fine. The how-to talked about in this thread, is the build up of my guages! lol.

More comments since i missed this thread! lol.
Like I said before, the how-to is on my gauges and they've worked flawlessly for the past year. Every other interior LED component is working beautifully and they've been in it longer than the cluster. I plan on redoing a cluster using 360 deg LEDs directly behind the gauge arcs, instead of filling the factory bulb holes with LED clusters. I'm doing this since i've not seen anyone do this, and I'd like to get rid of the hotspots i've got. I've got hotspots but they really aren't that bad at all. You only really notice them at dusk or in the daytime when you'vegot your dash lights on. AND...If there's an incandescent bulb in the same circuit at the dash illumination dimmer, you can fully dim the LED's in the dash. They are pretty bright.
I used pretty much exactly what Ian bought....i think mine were 14000 or 15000mcd 5mm regular LED's.
Plug-in's suck from my experience. You must shave the coloring off the back of the overlays. Otherwise the color wouldn't show through very well at all.
I highly suggest getting an extra cluster to play with. Do what I did....rocked my stock black face and modded the cool white face expo gauges.
How come TrePaul86 hasn't chimed into this thread yet??
