LED question
I have a 2005 4x4 xlt. I’ve tried various LEDs and have had no luck with them working properly. For the head lights I tried using resistors i bought from superbrightleds.com for $17 and made the light not work at all. I’m having a problem with the driver side light flickering and it’s half the brightness as the passenger side, no matter the bulb.
‘’Ive tried various LEDs for the dome light and they work randomly. Most of the time not at all. I want to changer my instrument cluster lights to blue LEDs but if they don’t work anywhere else than what’s the point of swapping them.
‘’is there a fix for this issue??

Welcome to the forum
Yes, +1 ^^^
Not a Ranger issue just that LEDs are not like regular light bulbs that have been used for 100 years
The Makers of the LED bulbs will have recommendations for use in 12volt vehicles, if they don't..............then pass on those brands, they will not work
Good LED bulbs are for the most part plug and play for lighting, but as said there is a +/- issue so if one doesn't work unplug it and reverse it and plug it back in
Turn signal LEDs often need an LED Flasher, a timed flasher, as most vehicles use a bimetallic flasher that needs HEAT from higher resistance to work

Front side light doesn't work -- 2004 Ranger
Assuming it was due to a burnt out bulb, I bought a new one (#194) managed to install it (thanks to Youtube and some dogged determination) -- but the light still doesn't work. Now that I look at the packaging, I see that the replacement bulb I bought is a LED, and that it has a red dot on one side. I assume that this indicates positive. So have I installed the new one incorrectly? Will LED's work even with my truck?

Thanks!
