Neon questions

Ok im adding some neon to my truck. Im lighting up the floor and front floormat area. I have a cool little product from Streetglow, it's a music interface. I want to use my cig. lighter for the power. Now here is the questions.

Do you think It could power 10 neons? It says on the interface a max of 6 amps.

The cig. lighter has a fuse correct? If so i wont need the supplied fuse in the music interface will I? OR could i replace the cig. lighter fuse with a lower amp fuse?

Am i dumb for adding neons?

See. I dont know how to run the fuse and shyt. I can run a switch.

Also i nver knew that the radio bezel was SO easy to get off. 2 screws... MAN that's anti-theft...

I wish there was a How To on running power to w/e you need.

You're not dumb for adding neons, they look good, and when they go with the bass, its a cool effect. But anything over 6 neons in a ranger would be overkill. To light up your floor all you need are 2 under the dash, and one along the back wall. I have that setup, and its pretty bright.

Cool I got one 20" and two 10" ones. It's the wiring im worried about, I can wire up the lights from the control module to the lights, but from the power source to the module im worried about, I've never done this before.

ok heres how you wire them... i dont have pics cuz i was to lazy to take them last night but here goes... PM me with questions or hit me up on AIM

first youll probably need some extra wire for it so that you can reach the fuse on the passenger side...

mount them where you want, and serperate the ground and live wire (should be able to just pull them apart)...

connect the ground wires together and find an existing bolt thats connected to the fram or solid metal peice(thers a good bolt on the driverside near the gas pedel)

then connect the live wires together and then attach them to the new wire....

this should connect to the middle prong on the switch, jsut wrap it through the hole and give it some electrical tape...

then run another wire from your inside fuse box...(17 should be the 12v, but check your manual)...remove the fuse... stick the wire into the right(direction right) hole were the prong of the fuse goes in...

reinstall the fuse so that it holds the wire tight....

then run that wire to the top prong on the switch...

that should be it, if bob or john wanna check for errors feel free, cuz ive only done electrical once...

Cold Cathode tubes will BLOW neons away. wiring is almost the same and they draw less current. plus they are tiny. any questions, contact me.
