i would honestly love to know how he gets OEM material cheap enough to sell at those prices. what he's asking for a set of sewn covers is about what we have in just materials alone, not even including labor. so he either has one hell of a deal on material, or it's not oem. same with leather. most hides run $2-350 each, and one hide is just enough to do two seats.

it says right in his ad that it's oem material. something i could see it being would be what we call a "take off". when we do leather conversions, we take the original cloth covers off and toss them in the trash. most of the time, the car has less than 100 miles on them. so "brand new" covers. we used to keep them for swapping out when someone would get a cig burn, or other issues. however, we do so many leather conversions, we just take a razor blade and cut the covers off, and throw them away. he may be selling take offs.

if they are indeed OEM material, they are worth $300 per cover, so therefore it's one smoking deal. if you wanted a different factory cover, you would be dumb not to get those. i sent him an email asking for more details on the covers. i'll let you know what i find out.

here is his response:

I started to do interiors years ago. A couple of projects that paid well. Leathers mostly. I did a couple of cloth and were super great. I can show U pictures.
And motivated by that, bought a lot of material in bulk prices. Did sets, because I found Ford fabric that cheap, and the Ranger are only the front seats.
So I have this inventory of complete sets, that I need to recover some money to keep my business going. I had stop making more to see how this is going.
I tried to incorporate other vehicles, like I'm making a set of combinations for the Toyota 4Runner 94, but that SUV needs front and back row seats and the price would be almost double.
I'm trying to bring more popular vehicle, like Hondas, the Eclipse, etc, that people like to spend money into. But so fa I got stuck with this Ford sets.

And Yes, it takes a lot of work to make this sets, but when you enjoy what you do, and take proud of what you make, it shows. So, for the fortunate that would buy this sets, I know that they would look awesome. And I need more customer feedbacks to create buyer's trust.
That's why the price.
Thanks so much.

they should be pretty easy to install. iirc, should have velcro for most of it, and maybe some hog rings at the top. he said he sends hog rings with the covers.

It doesn't look like the 60/40 seats have the little holes for the cupholder in the middle part of the seat. I might just order the bucket seat ones until I can hack up my own seats... but then I'll need a full length center console... anybody have one? haha. I want the black/red so bad. That's also assuming these would fit on 2004 seats.

04-05 seats are different than the 06+ seats. 04-05 have the stupidly tall head rest. 06+ dont.

I e-mailed him about making some 04 black/red seats. He said he will make them and post them up on e-bay in the next couple of days. I will buy them and post lots of pics, maybe a how-to, when i get them and get them installed.

negative. do it yourself and take pics. we need to see how you screw up so we don't do it. if it's done right it doesn't help us.
