Overhead Console

Does anybody know the Ford part # for the temperature sensor that is needed for and overhead console out of a '97 explorer. The Ford dealership said they have two sensors; one is about $20 while the other is $100. Which one do i need? Thanks

You will also need the connector pigtail - about $30+ from the dealer.

That's why it's preferable to get the whole thing from a junkyard for $5~10. Many Explorers have more than one. You'll know you have the right one when you find color codes dark blue/yellow and dark blue/white.

The connector pigtail that i need, is that to connect to the sensor or to the actual console? Because i have the console already and it has the connector attached to the console with about 6 inches of wire after the connector. I thought that all i would have to do is wire the actual wires to the sensor.
