Piece missing in armrest

Piece missing in armrest
Does anyone know what is supposed to be here? I keep looking at other rangers and Ive never seen one with the same armrest as mine and I get no help at the dealership. I have a 2002 ranger if that helps.

I thought it was a cupholder but figured no since the thing already has 4 of them. I was hoping it was an ashtray or something to hold all my change

A cupholder does indeed go there.. it just looks like the plastic piece that forms the cupholder is missing.
