Putting a bench seat in...

Hey Ya'll,

My wife and I are fixing to have a baby boy in June and I was wondering if there is any way to put a bench seat like form a Dakota or similar in the back and still have the use of the floor space under it for my jack and tool boxes? If any one has any ideas on how to do this please let me know. We can't afford to get a new/used car right now and just have the ranger to work with.

Thanks for the info and help

I wish I had a picture. I have a friend of a friend that had a ranger and they went a bit extreme. They welded a cage in the back that would hold the baby seat in it perfectly. It still had tons of underneath space also. I'm sure that's more than you are wanting to do though. lol

unfortunately, there really isn't enough room in the back for a baby seat. i've never heard of anyone doing that swap either. could it be done? probably. it's going to take cutting, fabricating, and welding to get it in.

Yeah, I'm not really wanting to do all that but I have the idea of getting the back seat from like a dodge dakota and fabricating it to fit back there and doing away with the jump seats I was just looking for some ides on how to do it.

Yeah I figured that but we don't lean our seats back that far any way... I just can't see getting rid of the ranger to get a family car lol I use the truck to much to do that

Hello

So did you end up putting a bench seat in your Ranger. I know that this is an old post but was considering doing the same?

I have thought many times of doing away with the 60/40 seat in my Ranger regular cab and putting a roll and tuck black gen.one seat in mine. Very hard to find a seat in good shape as a donor, costly if you do.
