Radio Bezel - Mod’g Same !
Radio Bezel - Mod’g Same !
I want to remove the Power Port from a two WD Drive, no fog sw, Radio Bezel.

I need to cut the hump off, fill and smooth out, then paint.
What is the best filler to use or is there another way ?
Colors: Silver to match as close as possible the Ford Silver or plain old Ford Interior Semi-Black.
I want to end up with a Radio Bezel with only a cig lighter or maybe not even that, just a plain no connector bezel.
Been thinking on this for a while but have done nothing, it is on the list, the way too big list.
This is something that will get noticed and with the new radio going in soon it makes sense to do it with the install.

I actually was just thinking about relocating my two power plugs yesterday and wanting to fill the bezel.
I was thinking of cutting off the humps and fiberglassing the holes. Then either painting or wrapping in vinyl.....

Fiberglassing from back side ?
Add filler - is there a better filler to use other than std auto bondo ?
Taper the edges, fill in the holes, sand.
What about finishing, any options beside the std paint ?
Just thinking out loud here !

rwenzing,
Wow, a lot of buttons on your dash, looks interesting.
Is the wiggle switch (pic) anti-skid ?
Also, got a new liking for the 12V Port Plug, I think I will use it in the new mounting points I will install.
AND thks for the paint suggestions, I will still need to paint; now to remove the rubberized coating.
Thks
Thanks to all for your help.
drppdyllwrngr found me a 2WD Bezel w/no power port, no sw’s from on the web.
I paid the price w/shipping/insurance (?LoL? P.C.) and it will be in the mail soon enough.
Again thanks to all...

It is a traction control switch from an Explorer (2006?) but I use it for ABS disable.
The problem with the Ex switch is that it is a "momentary on" pushbutton, so it needs a solid state device or a bank of relays or something else to translate that into the ordinary "on/off" for the ABS.
Making an ABS disable can be as easy as wiring up an off/off toggle. Easier yet is to pull the fuse. John made a thead about it. Search under his screen name - N3ELZ.
