I'm wondering what my options are for swapping the dash in my 98 Ranger.

The stereo that was used by the previous owner, just slides out of its casing if you hit the brakes hard. lol...

There are other switches at the side close to the door, that control nothing.
And are very stupid looking in a vehicle. Never seen anything like them.

And heat damage to the top.

I found the post here about using Explorer dash for white gauges, can I just swap the whole freakin' dash out?

 

Explorer and Ranger Instrument clusters were similar sizes but not the whole dash

I think 1995 to 2002 Ranger whole dash will swap over to 1998, they did some changes to heater and AC locations in 2003 as well as 1995 and earlier wiring

Rangers got the white clusters in 2003 I think
Explorers got it in 2001

These are the clusters that will interchange.
1995-2002 Rangers
1995-2003 Explorers

And should be plug and play, but some repining on cluster may be needed

Can anyone help me with cluster pin info for a swap from a 97 with a tach to 2000 xcab. I already saw the plugins fit and put 97 in. But had no speedo and lost oil pressure or temp function. Another issue is the 97 had a nonworking odometer and trip odometer while in donor vehicle and I was wondering about how to go about changing the motors and sensor pins.

 

Anybody know if a 2003 dash will bolt to a 1993? I have the 2003 dash out and have reworked the radio. I was figuring on taking the wiring complete with the 2.3L I4 engine and Auto trans from the 2003 B2300 and installing it as replacement for my knocking 3L V6 in the 1993 I hate to give up the 5 speed but likely will not bolt up to the V6.
