I got mine all sanded and ready for paint! I'm reluctant to pain it black again... I want something more fun but not annoying... And ideas??

After reading this thread I am going to try mine too.
I’m thinking of going with the OEM FX4 Silver color for paint - SEMS that is.
Need to get rid of the blk thing going on in the cab, too much and as Mcleary316 said need something different.
Not too different !

I’ve gained four more post counts since I logged in , LoL...

The black rubber coating rubs off really easy. Let it sit in the sun for an hour and rub it off with your fingers. 15 mins max.

I am bidding on a couple of plain 2wd bezels now, I want one with nothing on it, cig lighter max.

Let me know ?

99offroadrngr ,
Let start from the beginning, to clarify.
You stripped the coating off of a cntr bezel.
You prep’d it and got it ready for WHAT vehicle ?
The cntr bezel that you stripped, it has a 4x4 sw and rear window (what ever) sw and two light sw positions.
Is the truck you are going to buy manual t/c or will you being converting to manual t/c… If you do the 4x4 sw will be a wasted space ?
Also, you mentioned filling in the rear window sw position, will you be doing anything with that location, another sw ?
Next question, if you are hoping to go to manual t/c in your next truck why waste your time fixing this one up when you can get a 2 WD version and do your thing on it ?

Now to finish… I have a couple of the 2WD cntr bezels with pwr port and if you wanted one I was will ing to set you up but I guess you don’t so forget that one !

Then I put in a comment on my plans (if that is acceptable), I am looking for a 2WD Cntr bezel, one with no sw’s, no pwr port, I will have to have the cig lighter but maybe a ricer light in there.

Sorry for all your confusion, I tend to type slower than my brain is thinking and I don’t usually re-read the stuff.
To keep all of the English/Writing Majors on the path of sanity I will re-read my stuff before pushing the go button.

Hope this help !

1354M was sold on craigslist, no manual tcase unless it comes with it.

I'm all set with everything and have everything i need. Working on deleting the wiper indicator tonight. where the wiper switch was will be bored out to fit a 12V source just like the left side.

I still like the plain look.

No but doesn't stop people from being a$$es does it ?

This site is built on opinions, I could have said in my opinion the extra switches $uck but the guy is doing a project he likes.

AND what I write shouldn't bother you unless you are his defender or closer yet !

Sorry P.C. no ofence to you but some people do not know when to keep their mouth shut.

lmao

I'd rather have OEM switches than billet any colored or aluminum switches scattered around the truck, its tacky. I'll only be running 1 set of auxiliary lights so 1 for the stock fogs and one for the others will suffice.
Same with the gauges, they will stay stock green or i'll swap to white LED's but no blue or other colors aside the green/white interior lighting. Blue got annoying after having it, same with red.

Why? It's fun...Mostly just giving you a hard time. I know when to keep my mouth shut, but right now is the time to keep it open lmao.

Been thinking on this… "I know who cares”.

Since you appear not to mind the work involved in eliminating the Rear Wiper Sw.
Is it possible to take a 4x4 Bezel with a Pwr Prt and one Fog Light sw and just add the sw locations ?
Maybe cut up the one you have and mold the sw openings to another Bezel.

I hope I explained it correctly and properly so there is no “WTFs” popping up… because I care, lol.

Anyway not sure which way is easier, adding a sw location or removing the RWS ?

You usually do good work so either way will turn out OK but just thinking out loud and giving my OPINION AGAIN !

One more thing, try to stay away from using Scotch Brite Pads when finishing surfaces for painting.
Scotch Brite Pads can make thing too smooth and the paint may not stick to the surface.
If you think 400 grit is not smooth enough go to 800 or 1000 grit.
