I was the first to try and winch him out and my kid was pulling the cable out to his truck when multiple people started yelling to him to just hook it to his strap.....I guess I was more worried about Zach sinking deeper and sucking water and it never occured to me to not do that. Then when I couldnt budge him Evan pulled up and they hooked to the strap also.
That whole situation was a clusterf#*k because there were guys just standing there watchin that had trucks that could have snatched him out. I had a guy in a Suburban ask me to try and pull him out with my truck!

Since that was my first time meeting most of you Im still confused on who was who from here.
I know who the Two Zachs are,Evan, Justin and Rob. The rest Im not sure who was driving what. Would you guys care to post up so I can figure this out?

The Bronco,Hummer,Explorer,F-150's I have no clue who those people were.
Also,who was I talkin to about possibly getting a used 4.0 from??

Yeah... who's idea was that?! That was a surprise when I popped open the empty panel on the drivers side to change a fuse...

Why did you guys have a strap running to the back of your truck Zack instead of running the cable right to the winch cable to the truck? You know you should never use a ****** strap as a winch extension. It also looks like the reason you guys had a hard time getting Zack out is because you didn't have enough cable out on Evan's winch.
we pulled him a little then we did back up and get more line out. i dont think anyone took a pic like that.
as soon as i pulled up i already had a a truck tied to the back of me and the line hooked to zach. and i didnt really want to test the ice and walk out there so i left it how it was. lol

zach spray some belt grease on it and see if that stops it. or PAM cooking spay works. thats what i use.
have u tryed ur winch? wonder if it still works after being in the water for like 30min. prob froze up all the gears. maybe a tear down and clean up might be smart. i just did mine and cleaned all the brushes.

yeah that sucks, That sand will get into all kinds of nasty places via the water. Between my 3.0 and 5.0 i think i have replaced 5 Idler pulleys from bearings going out on them. you can only stand to drive around with the nasty sqeal for so long
