I tried to send you a PM, but the option isn't there.
One of the main things I need help with is lowering the new cab back into place and getting the dash put back in. There's 100s of electrical connections, it's pretty crazy.
doing a Dash is plug and play man.
every connection only goes to one place, so if you just work left to right, you'll be ok.

As far as my experiences, I've been playing with all kinds of Fords for 20+ yrs. I've helped convert 2wd trucks to 4wd, motor swaps, brakes, teardowns, interior work, etc. I'm not real good with elec. stuff but have no prob with the mechanical aspects of things. I wasn't too far away from north knoxville, I lived in Louisville, abt 15 mins away.

Oh yeah, and the ranger I have now is the 4th ranger I've owned so I'm relatively familiar with them. I've owned an '89,'90 and a '92

Well, it sounds like you're a pro at this. The first guy I had help me do a cab swap was a good mechanic, but he didn't know much about Fords and we had to do all kinds of research while working on the truck. As far as the electrical stuff, it just has to be plugged back up and I need to make sure it gets routed the right way.

Yeah, that's about the only thing Ford done right ... lol
I have to be sure to hook up the drivers side door wiring harness before I put the dash back in because there's one electrical connection that you can't get to when the dash is bolted back in place. (I think that's just with the 04+ Rangers.)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the dash "roll" in?
I think i know what your talking about, but i can't recall doing a dash on a new style ranger at the moment. I'd have to see it.

lol I wouldn't say I was a pro, but I do know my way around more than a few Fords, especially the Mark VII's

Yeah, you seem pretty mechanically inclined. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do this kind of work, just lots of patience.

I'm pretty sure it has the 4:10 rear end because it has an auto trans. I think it has the 31 spline axles too since it's a FX4.

And the price is top secret (Lets just say I made out like a )

Alittle bit off topic but does anyone around KY have any access to steel pipe and metal for good prices? I cant seem to find anyone that will ship for a decent price. I need about 450-500 inches of it or around 40 ft of .095 wall 1.75" DOM. Thanks

You should go to O'NEAL Steel Inc. off of Almond Ave. which is close to Strawberry Lane. I bet they could hook you up with what you need.
Are you planning on makin a roll cage?

((((((((((((((Update)))))))))))))))))))
I just got back from Viola, IL aka Corn Country with my new cab. I think I'm going to take advantage of the cab being stripped and put down some sound deadening material like Hush Matt.
It's going to cost a little more and set me back a few days, but I think it'll be worth it.
Does anyone here think I'm crazy for doing this?

I got my Ranger repaired and I'm back on the road again and my 2004 DSG Ranger is really coming back together nicely thanks to Chuck (Darth Ranger)

I'll be posting some pictures of the progress soon.

I wish you would have seen it a couple weeks ago too :-) I've been working everyday on this project. It's finally coming together.
I went out today and bought the last few parts that I needed. The only thing I'm missing now is the 4 studs that hold the center console down.

I certainly was oblivious to the fact that there is a negative thread and I've given the facts and my side of the story. I didn't even think this acemavrick character (The guy who kept Lazler's radio bezel for a year) was going to be stupid enough to even say anything about the whole situation, that's why I was wasn't looking for any negative comments.
Now, I need to contact the Mods to see if they can delete that thread that was started or atleast close it.

I wrote this when ace said we need to have another meet. I didn't want to tell everybody how he messed my truck up, but I guess I should have.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm in the process of getting this taken care of.
I think it's insane how he tried to rip me off and then comes on here and starts a bad thread on me.
