So here's the deal for the July Run.
We'll be meeting at 7:30 a.m. sharp in Yermo at a restaurant called Peggy Sue's Diner. If you're not familiar with Yermo, it's a little podunk town just a few minutes northeast of Barstow along I-15. This is a one-day run, so many of us are going to just drive up (EARLY) Saturday morning. There has been mention of people wanting to stay the night, and there are plenty of places around to do it. There are several motels in Barstow, there is an RV campground in Calico, and there are thousands of acres of unimproved desert "dry" camping within a stone's throw. There are many things to explore in the area, and there are rumors that those who are going to camp may make an early Sunday run, too.
This run should be a very FAST run, where we'll be able to get into 3rd and 4th gears and really open it up a bit. It'll alsobe a very scenic and historical run with many sites to see, including ancient Indian sites, as well as old west sites, and will be literally littered with mines and mineral deposits. The dry lake should be fun (if it's indeed dry when we get there), and I'm sure there'll be some neat surprises along the way, too. If we have time toward the end, we might (maybe) do a little rock-crawling, but this run is designed for speed!
Come on out and join us if this sounds like your cup of tea! We certainly welcome newcomers. This is a fun bunch of folks to be around! .......Im also making alot of carne asada taco's again.and a bunch of other ****....Ill be making taco's for 75cents =D......So one less thing u have to worry about is food...Just let me know who wants some.
Im still a maybe...so dont depend on me haha
