2000 ford ranger
2000 ford ranger
Hey all, my 2000 ford ranger with 235,000 miles has a manual transmission with the 2.5L 4cyl. I had a mechanic do a full service and he changed my transmission fluid. Now on cold mornings it won't go into gear. I have to push the clutch in and start it in reverse. Some more context: The slave and master cylinder are brand new, the clutch is new with of course a new thrust bearing and pressure plate. The last bit of context: I live in The Bahamas so the "Cold mornings" aren't really that cold, maybe 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees farenheit. The only reason I mention the "cold mornings" is because once I get driving and it warms up the truck shifts like its brand new. Maybe he used the wrong fluid? Maybe I should have him put in a thinner fluid and of course I know I could benefit from a full tranny rebuild but thats expensive. looking for a quick temporary fix thanks!
