96 4.0 Won't start w/ new starter, battery, solenoid, and ignition cylinder and switc
I turn the key and all the instrument lights come on (not the security light). Can turn the key and jump it from the firewall solenoid to get it to run. Relay in fuse panel clicks when I try to start. Replaced the starter, battery, solenoid(firewall), ignition switch and ignition cylinder. Any guesses? Electrical issues

Welcome to the forum
"Solenoid on firewall"??
Check Fuse #24(10amp) in cab fuse panel, it pass the 12volts that activates starter motor.
There can be two relays if you have theft light, diagram below
You need to see 12volts on the Black wire(see diagram) at the starter motor when key is turned to START, that is what activates the starter motor

96 Ranger wouldn't start - It was the fuse #24.
I put the new spare fuse that came with the truck in slot #24 and it didn't work at first. Tried another new one and it fired right up. Guess I'll have to remember to always try two new fuses to make sure in the future. Thanks RonD. Big help. Really like this Ranger Forum.
