Back to owning a Ranger - had to chime in
Decades ago, I bought a brand new 2001 Ranger Edge, traded that in for a Chevy Suburban to fit the family. Now I find myself the proud owner of a "farm fresh" 1995 Ford Ranger XLT. 25 years old, will need some TLC, so here I am for advise and humor!
Welcome to the forum
1995 Ranger was first year with the new EEC-V 104-wire computers, its suppose to be OBD2 but some have reported issues "talking" to the 1995 computer with OBD2 readers
Also first year for electronic speedometer/odometer dash
3 engine options
2.3l SOHC Lima 4cyl, replaced with 2.3l DOHC Duratec engine in 2002, well mid 2001
3.0l Vulcan V6
4.0l OHV Cologne V6, 2001 and up used the 4.0l SOHC V6 engines
All were distributorless and had spark timing system inside the new Computer, no external spark modules like 1994 and earlier

Woah woah, easy there, killer, slow down on the info!
, yeah, it's the 4.0L, same motor I had in my 2001, I am sure I will be spending lots of time looking for stupid crap like how to tighten up the steering (yes, I know Fords you more herd than steer), and why I get a bit of a vibration in moderate acceleration. First thing I have to fix is the fuel tank leak (only leaks when full). Can you believe that NOBODY carries a gas tank for a 1995 Ranger? It's like either the tanks were just that good that nobody replaced them, or they were that bad that every one replaced them.

No one has replacements for the plastic tanks, but....................they can be repaired, the same way they are made, Plastic Welding
Wrecking yards move vehicles around with fork lifts so these tanks get cracked and some places actually puncture the tanks, on purpose, when they drain the fluids before vehicle is put out in the yard

! He starts off trying to obtain the necessary information to get things right from the get-go !Please post up what your truck is, what the motor/drivetrain is, and where you are from; also what your plans have for the truck, i.e. needed repairs, wanted to-do modifications, and your abilities.
Have a great day !
