cylinder head spark plug thred

Hi All I'm a new member, long time ranger owner. while changing plugs #2 intake side came out hard I did squirt some WD in when I started. I really didn't take a good look at the hole but new plug wouldn't start. When I did examine close only 2-3 threads were left. Any one out there experience this? can it repaired in place? helicoil type fix? Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the forum

Bummer about the threads.

Yes, you can tap the hole and use time-sert or similar thread repair kits without removing the head.

I have never had to do this so can't recommend a brand, my experience is from the old days, when you HAD TO replace the head
