Hello!

Hey everyone.
Looking to get into my second Ranger after close to 20 years. I had an '89 in high school. 2.9, manual 4x4. I loved that truck. I swapped the motor in it as it had a super bad tick. Ran the new motor for little over a year when I discovered how low the intake was as I drove through an irrigation ditch too fast and sucked a bunch of water in. It must have bent a rod or something because I couldn't get it to unseize. Being young and dumb I took it to a push pull and drag and got into something else. Wish I had never done that.

I've been watching Rangers for a couple years now and I think I've finally found one where I'm going to pull the trigger. It's a 90 with a fresh 4.0 in it. It's got an automatic and the electric 4x4 (neither of which I'm real thrilled about) but I feel it's a pretty decent buy. Of course I'd like to swap the auto out for a M5R1 and a BW1350, but I'm excited to go through the forums and see what the experts recommend! I used to dream of doing the V8 swap in one, but that's hard to justify with a new engine in her. Only time will tell I suppose!

So that's my story! Looking forward to becoming an actual active member rather than someone just passing through. Thanks in advance for making a great community and all the help to come!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I’ve had great luck with a not so fresh 4.0. Solid
