Hi all from SE TX. I'm the original owner of a black 4 door 1999 Ranger XLT 3.0, 87,500 miles on it. I have a couple of repairs to do to it, and will be reading here a bit, so decided to register. A few years ago I found the fix for my engine ping here (hot water to intake) and have been back occasionally for info.

Soon I will need to replace the rear springs, the bushings have been crying for a couple of years now. I also need to get the a/c working again. Oh, and the rear door cable latches need repair- I have the repair kit with the aluminum pieces for when I get to it.

Other than that, it all works, and is in good shape. I've owned it now for 18 years, and I've had almost no problems with it. The rear ABS sensor went out when the truck was about 3 or 4 years old, and other than that, it's just been routine maintenance items- brakes, water pump, etc. Changed the front control arms, and springs around 5 or 6 yrs ago, they were squeaking.
