I have a chance to purchase a 2001 4x4 ranger xlt ext cab flareside only has 74000 on it.
Luckily it’s a family members and I am able to use it for a week first before deciding
been lurking the forums for a about a week to get some good mod ideas

2001 was first year Rangers got the 4.0l SOHC engine and it had timing chain issues until 2004 so heads up if it has 4.0l SOHC
The 2.5l Lima engines were OK, early 2001 Rangers
2.3l Duratec had some issues until 2004, mid year 2001 and up
3.0l Vulcan was OK
