Hi Guys! I'm new to this Forum
My 2010 Ranger runs just fine and I'm very pleased with it overall since buying it in 2011. A problem started with steady buzzing in the blue plastic module beneath the steering wheel. The buzzing stops only when the hazzard lights button is activated or when the L or R turn signal is on. This happens even when the truck isn't running. I replaced the module and the buzzing continued. In the evening, I have to remember to turn the signal on after I turn off the engine or the sound will be there in the morning when I get in the truck. Any ideas on what is going on? Please help!
Welcome to the forum
The flasher(blue module) has 12volts all the time because it is used for emergency flashers(hazard lights) as well as turn signal
And it has key on 12v for the turn signals
It could be the turn signal switch, multi-function switch, is causing a partial short, you can pull off the steering wheel cover and unplug the hazard and turn signal wires to check if they are causing the issue
I don't have a 2010 diagram but in 2009 fuse #17, 15amp is for Hazard and fuse #20, 10amp is for turn
Pulling fuse #17 should stop the buzz, but won't mean its a hazzard switch issue

Thanks for your recent response and this one from a year ago. Same problem then and now. Buss went away on it's own a year ago. Came back now a year later!?!
Good diagnosis: multi function switch in steering column. I opened up the cover. Tough for me to access for possible loose wire. Will likely end up taking it into Ford for a diagnosis and fix/replacement. Keep up your good work!
