I love Rangers, so here I'll be
I love 2000's era Rangers, specifically 2001 and up. I own a 2001 and a 2005, which are both 4.0 and 4x4. I can’t ever see myself not loving them. The reintroduction of the Ranger in North America a couple or few years ago was long needed, but left me disappointed and loving the old Rangers even more.
The things I love about the Ranger are quite simply its body shape, compact size, affordability as an entry level 4x4, and the truck bed for carrying stuff. One of the best things people don't realize is that you can fit a Ranger in an average garage with room to spare. Garage sizes haven't really changed in average newer homes, unless you spend way more to get the floor space you need. It's funny to see people with triple car garage homes, but they don't ever put their oversized 3/4 tons or even half tons in there because they don't fit comfortably. Cons of Rangers are obvious compared to other vehicles and too numerous to list, but everything else on the road looks like a gal dang electric shaver.
I think one day I'll have to break down and get a newer vehicle and that's gonna be rough. If I was a millionaire, I'd just have a better, shinier old Ranger.
Only other real notable thing about me is game design and gaming. I don't consider it a hobby or pastime. It's life.

Welcome! Glad to see other members who own multiple Rangers.
My first was a 2000, but I only had it for a few months. That truck had an impact on me, and I decided I wanted another. I wanted a 2001-2003 Oxford White Edge with four doors, a 4.0, and 4x4. By the time I had the down payment, that truck wasn't available in my price range. I found a 2003 Oxford White Edge 4 door that was two wheel drive and a 3.0. I just needed a truck to get back and forth to college, and I decided it was the one. It really must have been the one, because I still have it 13 years later. I still drive it every day. I've almost traded it in numerous times, but I always went back on it. Now, I've given up on getting rid of it and I'll just let it sit and rot before I ever let it go.
A few years ago, I inherited my great uncle's 2002 Toreador Red Ranger 4x2. He bought it in 2007, so it's been in the family for a long time. I don't plan on getting rid of it either.
If you take care of them, they'll take care of you. My white Ranger has been the most reliable truck I will probably ever own. I maintain it religiously, and although she's had her issues, we've traveled over 150,000 miles and I attribute that to the strict maintenance schedule I keep. I hope you'll do the same and have the same luck with yours.
