Just Retired

Just retired and bought a 1987 Ranger XLT 4x4. Definitely a project truck. The plan is to learn how to work on it. Right now I am way over my head.

Welcome to the forum

On older vehicles wiring can be getting brittle and a pain to work on unless your know where to look

EVTM is a good book to have, seen here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274445401145

Ford makes a Shop Manual Set, every year for every model, and sends a Set to each Ford shop, so they can repair any issues on new vehicles
Usually 2 or 3 books is the set, the EVTM is always one of those books and is often sold separately

These can also be re-sold, usually for what you paid for them, when you sell the 1987 Ranger
