Might be Returning to Ford
Thought I would join this forum to learn some of the real-world issues/facts/fun of the newest Ranger generation, 2024+
I'm now driving a '17 Colorado Z71 4x4 extended cab - - - nice truck, btw.
Was planning to get a new model 2023 Chevy/GMC but have delayed due some 'less than ideal' features of the new models.
One issue, only a crewcab configuration. Since new Ranger is also crewcab limited, but offers more engine options its time to re-visit Ford ownership.
I owned/drove several F-150's before switching to the Colorado as full-size F-150 are just too big for my needs.
( the '17 Colorado is about the same size as my 1990 SWB F-150 was )
With the 2024 Tacoma having at least one 4x4 non-crewcab configuration,
my hoping the 2025 Ranger will have additional cab configurations.

I can pretty much guarantee that you won't see anything other than a crewcab/5ft bed on the Ranger, nor will you see new engine options. Ford isn't putting much time or effort into the new Ranger, and those of us who remember this story back in 2005 or so know all too well what will happen to the current generation Ranger within the next few years. They made the mistake of putting the Maverick into the mix, which no doubt pulls sales from the Ranger, and the Ranger as-is really isn't that roomy inside compared to an F150, even if it is a mid-size. The upcoming Raptor Ranger is Ford's attempt to save it, but it's a poor attempt and won't make up for the lackluster sales. Ford is already trailing far behind in the mid-size pickup market, running behind the Tacoma, Colorado, Jeep Gladiator, and Frontier.
