ok, bought 98 Ranger xlt rear wheel drive 2.5, 5 speed going on 3 yrs ago- with 95,000 on it then . now 116,000. was traveling in N Fl. 1 yr ago ; had been hearing right rear bearing noise for some time . finally couldn't put it off any longer . Result. removed r rear axle which turned out to have junkyard writing on it and replaced with new seal, bearing and axle ; but couldn't afford to do left side bearing at the time. any how I love to shoot pool and I haven't really done any mechanicking on my vehicles or anyone else's since the early 80"s until a yr ago and now recently.
