Hey folks! New to the ranger game, but not the mini truck life. I previously owned a 1999 Chevy S-dime, bought that for $2400, had 257k on the odo and it was used as a work truck most of its life but was slammed. Sat about 3” off the ground. Had 4 15” subs in the ext cab portion. All for a week until I got rear ended and totaled it.
ANYWAY I’ve been itching for a new mini, so today I’m going to purchase a 92 Ranger super cab 4x4. 144k on the dash, 2.9 V6 5 speed. Guy says it runs and drives perfect, but won’t pass smog because he was told it needed a tune up. I’m not particularly concerned about smog, I know a guy. But what kind of tune up would he be referring to? Are these carbureted engines? If not then a tune up shouldn’t stop it from passing smog. Any idears?
