New here love it already. Rebuilding my 95 ranger
I have little to no experience working on vehicles but i love to do all the work myself. I'm here to learn and see what i offer to the ranger community.
Welcome to the forum
1995 Ranger was the first year with the new EEC-V Computer, Ford calls the computer the PCM(powertrain control module) in all it's vehicles
EEC-V is a 104 pin computer
1994 and earlier were the EEC-IV 60 pin
EEC-V had built-in Spark control module, earlier Rangers had separate module for spark
3 engines were offered in 1995 Rangers, 2.3l 4cyl, 3.0l or 4.0l V6s
1995 Automatic transmissions had full shift control, 4R44E, or 4R55E depending on engine size, trans was run/shifted by the new EEC-V PCM
1995 was also first year for electronic speedometer in Rangers, no speedometer cable
It used a VSS(vehicle speed sensor) located on the same hole used for speedometer cable, same gear setup as well so speedometer calibration for larger tires can be done by changing this gear, same as speedometer cable was.
1995 is generation 2 Ranger
1983 to 1992 was Gen 1
1993 to 1997 was Gen 2
1998 to 2012 was Gen 3
Gen 1 was slightly smaller than Gen 2 and 3
Gen 2 and 3 parts are mostly interchangeable, MOSTLY

Thanks RonD. That information will surely come in handy. Right now at this current step for my remodel im Attempting to get everything down to the frame. my 2 biggest problems at this current moment are 1) Dropping the gas tank and 2) My o2 sensor is seized inside of exhaust and the bolts holding it on i can heat up and spin them loose but they simply wont come out. they look to have some sort of spring on them. Once i figure out how to Upload photos onto this site ill gladly post pics if it helps....... I'm a carpenter and i was a electrical foreman for a solar company so if there is any way we can trade tips and tricks back and forth for your help id gladly do so.

The header pipes do have retainer springs on the bolts allowing pipes to move a bit as engine torques one way and the other on its mounts
Any exhaust bolts can be a bear to get out, if they are turning but not coming out then they are stripped and you will need to put outward pressure on them to get them to unscrew
If you think the gas tank is hard to get out then wait until you try to put it back in
The strap bolts rust out pretty bad
You can remove the bed, 6 bolts, and leave tank in place
A good resource for parts is LMC Truck
Go into the Ford Ranger section, they have many chassis and body parts, nuts and bolts ect.....
Not for drivetrain just the bits and bobs needed for older Rangers

Yea RonD i believe you. I've always had problems with my exhaust on this vehicle its time for a new one. I've already gotten the bed removed not to bad there besides your usual rust. Fuel tank is still in i simply dont know how to remove it and before i start getting below it and unbolting i figured id do some research on how to remove it
