Hello everyone my name is Ty. I'm a new member here from Indy. I have a 2010 Ford Ranger Reg cab 2.3 and love it. Got it for a good price. It has a few minor problems and I'm gonna need some help here.

2001 mid-year saw the Rangers get the 2.3l DOHC Duratec engine
Rangers had the 2.3l SOHC Lima engines from 1983 to 1997 so google search using "Ranger 2.3l" can get confusing, lol.

The 2.3l Duratec is a Mazda L engine, designed for transverse mounting in front wheel drive cars, so there are some coolant hoses and fittings on the BACK of the engine which was not an issue if its mounted sideways, but is an issue as mounted in the Ranger, you have to pull out the transmission to get to these hoses and fittings.

But a very good engine otherwise and reliable

2010 should have 4 wheel disc brakes a nice feature

 

I'm also from SE Indiana, actually just spent the weekend in Indy and stopped in at Upullandpay up there before I came home to pick up some parts for my Ranger!

 

Good to talk with you jholman05, Yea I am located on the Eastside, I usually stop by U-Pull & Pay once a week you know just to see what they have. Even though I am on their email list, their inventory is not always update. I also have a 1984 F150 that I'm trying to restore so I look for parts for that as well.
