First, a confession. I don't own a Ranger, although I have in the past (1999(?) 4.0 extended cab that I kept for one year then traded in on a new 2003 F-150) . Currently, I own a 2022 Maverick but I'm thinking about moving up to the Ranger and am hoping this site will help clarify my thinking.
This past June, I sold my previous daily driver; a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a snow plow setup that I used only on my own driveway. It was a very well accessorized, low mileage Rubicon in perfect cosmetic condition and it sold for a very good price to the first person who looked at it. The main reason for selling it was that, except for plow duty, it never got driven once I had the Maverick. I sold the plow separately a couple of weeks later.
A friend of mine who does residential plowing has taken that over but I'm realizing that I kind of miss doing it myself and being in control of when and how it's done.
I used to sell snow plows as part of a truck and offroad shop I owned and, at the time, the new Ranger was not a supported vehicle. Now, I see that it is now and that started the wheels turning so here I am. I hope to learn from everyone so I can make an informed decision and be able to sell it to the family CFO.
