Newbie with a 94 ranger
Glad to be a member. When dad passed I got his 94 ranger xlt super cab with 58000 miles. It had st up for quite a while but is in good shape. Need to find gas tank but cannot find new one anywhere.
Welcome to the forum
You won't find a new one anywhere, maybe used from a wrecking yard
If you have a Regular Cab Ranger then its a 17gal tank, extended cab or Long Bed(7ft bed) have 20gal tanks
Its a "plastic" tank, these can be damaged by fork lifts in wrecking yards, also drilled to drain out the fuel before being put out "in the yard"
Best option is to clean current tank, if it is cracked then use "plastic welding" to repair it, that is how these tanks were assembled, "plastic welding" the 2 halves together
In a home situation access to the top of gas tank is best if you slide the bed back or tilt it up, 6 bed bolts and 3 filler screws, unplug tail light connector
This is a good place to look for used vehicle parts: https://www.car-part.com/

Even if dropping the old tank I would pull the bed back or tilt it up to unhook fuel lines and unplug the electrics
Truck was assembled with bed off, so the fuel lines and wires are often attached to the cross bar and you can damage either if you lower the tank while they are still attached
You can usually lower the tank a bit and get your hand above the tank to unhook the fuel lines and wires, blind
Putting in back in, blind, is another story, lol
