ranger to raptor back to ranger?

i traded my 2004 ranger in for a special order raptor back in late 2013. over the years i usually traded in for a new vehicle every 2-4 years, but for obvious reasons the raptor is a different animal. lately i have been getting that new vehicle itch, and have been eyeing the latest generation ranger, the looks of i like alot. gen 1 raptor values are higher than usual right now, (as it is with most trucks these days) and i am thinking, at my age, maybe its time to downsize. going from a v8 to a 4 cylinder would be rough for awhile, but seeing that i currently get around 10 mpg it would probably wear off quickly given the state of gas prices these days (thanks, sleepy joe). im thinking i could order one quipped the way i want it for around 35k, and probably get fairly close to that in trade in with the raptor. i love the heck outa my truck but at some point i will need to move on before the eventually problems start setting in (it would be nice to have a truck with full factory warranty again). someone try to convince me that i am not crazy and that this would be a good decision at this point in my life. my current ride.......

Why not wait a year to see if Ford brings out a Ranger Raptor? They're currently testing them, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see them for the 2023 model year. That might help ease the sting of going from an F150 Raptor to a smaller Ranger.

+1 ^^^

But...............right now the "newer" older truck prices are high because you simply can't get new trucks, the world wide shortage of micro-chips and other parts is slowing new builds to a crawl
So if you can do without this Raptor, or get a temp lower cost driver, I would sell it while prices are higher, and then wait to see what Ford comes out with AND that you can actually get delivery on

Ford did come out with the Ranger T6 Raptor in 2018 for World Market not North America, it has 2.0-litre EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel engine, with the 10-speed automatic, 4WD only
Seen here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...ue_4X4_2.0.jpg

And Ford said at that time that North America wouldn't get a Ranger Raptor as Ranger T6 Raptor was specifically designed and offered in markets that wouldn't get the F-150 Raptor
But things change, always do, lol
